Navua Football Association treasurer Bimal Prasad said the associations total income was $74,000 while the surplus in 2008 was about $900.

"It would have been more because were still owed money by Fiji FA for the national league," he said.

Prasad said Navua was yet to be paid for winning the series against Mirchi All Stars as well.

"It was a good year for us.

The increase in profit was due to the team's performance last year as we picked up prize-money in almost every competition including abbreviated codes like Futsal and Beach soccer.? "The association also received a lot of donation from co-sponsors and it shows soccer in Navua is thriving," said Prasad.

Prajesh Kumar was elected as a new vice-president in the AGM and he replaces Vijendra Pratap, who has resigned.

Among the important changes approved by delegates of Navuas 15 club affiliates was a name change for the association.

"It was agreed and we will now be known as Navua Football Club," he said.? "Also, the local league is played in one division and from next year, its likely there will be two divisions.

"More clubs are expected to join this year.? Navua FC will soon have a new logo as well." Prasad said new provisions in line with the Fiji FA statute for disciplinary measures would be incorporated into the Navua constitution.
