BORO v OLDHAM ATHLETIC IN PENULTIMATE FUTSAL MATCH Middlesbrough Futsal Club, 3 June 2010 Oldham Athletic Futsal Club Middlesbroughs season draws to an end in June and they host the first Football League Club to play in The FA Futsal League, Oldham Athletic on Sunday (6th June) at Thornaby Pavilion, kick off 2pm in their penultimate game of a hit and miss campaign.

Boro havent won in The FA Futsal League since they last played Oldham Athletic, which manager Damon Shaw hopes will spur them on to finish the season on a high.

Weve had a bad run since we won the British University Championship and were in danger of finishing bottom and facing a playoff to keep our league status, explained Shaw.

That shouldnt happen, were a good team with a lot of quality players, but we need to prove that in the last two matches.

We havent been embarrassed this season, and a lot of games could have gone either way, but we have lacked experience.

Boro cant go into the game expecting an easy ride and there is plenty to play for as Shaw aims to put a squad together capable of bringing the title back to Teesside.

We beat Oldham away, and theyre relatively new to futsal, but theyve caused a couple of shock results in the past 12 months.

Weve got to finish the season well and take that momentum into next season.

After the season finishes I will decide who will be with us next season and the remaining two games is a chance for the players to prove their worth to the team.

We need to add some experience and quality if we are to regain our title and push on, but we have a good core highlighted by the fact that six players had trials for GB.

Middlesbrough are hoping to attract some more support this weekend and once again inflatable thunder sticks will be given out to make some noise! Entry is only 4 for a family, or 2 adults, 1 under-16s.

Kick off is at 2pm at Thornaby Pavilion, and doors open from 1.30.

Parking is free in Thornaby Town Centre (up to 3 hours) and Asda is just next door! For more information about Middlesbrough Futsal Club and photography and interview opportunities contact Damon Shaw on 07807 146 319 or email Damon here.
